Care Instructions for Mineral Marble

The wash basins of our bathroom furniture is made from high-quality mineral marble. Based on its hygienic qualitites and its homogeneous appearance, this material is very suitable for the use in this area. Additionally the surface is coated with a special gel coat, which lends a beautiful brilliance to the products.

 

Daily Cleaning

While mineral marble is very low-maintenance, it should be cleaned promptly from possible stains and spots. These can often be wiped down with tepid water and a soft cloth. Afterwards, the cleaned surface should be rubbed down. If necessary the surface can be cleansed supplementary with a customary water-based cleaning agent or a kitchen cleaner.

 

In-depth Cleaning

Persistent stains can be abolished with acetone-free nail polish remover. A cleaning finish for paint or other high gloss polishing agents from specialty stores can be used alternatively. These are also suited to dispose of dull spots on the surface.


Mineral marble should not get in contact with the following means:

  • abradant or abrasive cleaning agents (they produce dull spots on the surface)

  • drain pipe cleaner with sodium hydroxide

  • aggressive liquid cleaners

  • nitro-based solutions

  • oil emulsive polishes containing silicone, waxes and resolvents

  • steam cleaner (can cause swelling which damages the furniture)

  • acidity and strong bases(e.g. hydrochloric acid and soda ash)

  • ketones (acetone)

  • chloride solvents (trichloroethene)

  • ammonia products

  • hair tinting lotion (stains are hard or almost impossible to erase)

  • bleacher

  • tube cleaner


Although mineral marble is heat-resistant, it should not be exposed to water temperatures over 65°C for a long time.

The washing of clothing in the wash basins can damage them because of stains from the clothes" colourant.
