Regular Cleaning
Air humidity is no problem for our wicker furniture, but they should not be exposed to morning dew or downpour. The furniture should, like any other garden furnitre, be taken into the house for winter, because they are made for summer. They should also not be in direct sunlight since there is the possibility of light deformation. This may develop because of UV-radiation, which turns synthetic material brittle and wanly. Storage in the shade, the usage of a protective cover and the hibernation in a dry place can reduce this UV-radiation and prolong the life expectancy ot the furniture for 15 years or more.
If dusty, the furniture should be carefully cleaned with a vacuum cleaner by using a cap which does not damage the furniture. Adhesive dirt can be removed with a wet towel and some diluted mild detergent.
Repair
If one of the Rattan stripes should be broken, you can easily replace it. Take an extra stripe and entwine it in the empty space. Slide the stripe alternating underneath and above the horizontal stripe and secure it with adhesive. Cut the rest of the stripe so it can be hidden underneath the last horizontal stripe.
